International Women’s Day 2024: Get to know the women on the PSS Team
This year for International Women’s Day, we are profiling some of the women from the PSS support team. Today’s profile is on Kylee Hayward, one of our current PSS Board Members.
Profile: Kylee Hayward
What is your name and role in the pharmacy profession?
Kylee Hayward – Head of Workforce Advancement, SHPA (Society of Hospital Pharmacists Australia).
What is your role in the PSS team?
I’m the SHPA representative on the PSS board.
What are three things you enjoy doing to relax outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, craft of any kind and reading. Plus, of course, spending time with my family.
What drew you to pharmacy in the first place?
I always knew I wanted to work in health sciences, and pharmacy offered flexibility and diversity of practice settings. I love that we get to work collaboratively with our healthcare colleagues to improve our patients’ quality of life.
How are you inspired by women in pharmacy? Do you have a role model within the industry?
I have been privileged to know and work with many amazing women in pharmacy throughout my career. They inspire me with their commitment to the profession, their colleagues, and the patients they care for. Often they’re juggling multiple responsibilities inside and outside work, but always manage to be present and provide support, guidance, and a laugh when needed.
Thank you for reading our profile on Kylee! We appreciate Kylee’s support of PSS.
